Bill Won’t Reduce Number of Uninsured

The Patients’ Choice Act (S. 1099 and H.R. 2520), introduced by Senator Tom Coburn and Representative Paul Ryan, would fail to make progress in reducing the number of uninsured Americans. It also would make affordable, comprehensive coverage less available for many who currently have coverage by eliminating the main federal tax subsidy for employer-sponsored insurance - the income-tax exclusion for employer-sponsored insurance.
