Description:

Innovative nonprofit agency in the South Bronx is seeking a Family Support Coordinator to work with families in crisis. Qualified candidates will have experience working with high-needs families and young children, and be able to thoughtfully and creatively address the needs of the children and families we serve.

Responsibilities
• Crisis intervention
• Conduct client intakes
• Facilitate case conferences between outside agencies in order to assist families
• Maintain case notes and records
• Coordinate the appropriate delivery of services to families, which may include but are not limited to mental health, substance abuse, domestic violence counseling referrals, court accompaniments, etc…
• Develop and maintain a collaborative working relationship with collateral agencies and programs providing related services
• Represent program in community meetings, workshops, and conferences
• Assist in the day-to-day maintenance of the center
• Attend trainings as related to job duties
• Assist with prevention, education curriculum development and presentations
• Perform other duties as may be requested by the director.

Qualifications
Must be Bi-lingual (English/Spanish)
• Bachelor’s degree in related field (Social Work, Psychology, Education, Sociology)
• Experience working with children, especially children between the ages of 6 months to 6 years old
• Comfortable working in a diverse and changing environment
• Possess excellent conflict resolution skills
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule
• Strong organizational skills
• Computer literate
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work as part of a team
