About Us

Careersforgood.org (CFG) is a collaboration between the National Human Services Assembly (NHSA) and Action Without Borders (AWB; commonly known by the trademark, Idealist.org), both of which are tax-exempt organizations under section 501 c 3 of the Internal Revenue Code of the United States. CFG is not a distinct legal entity but operates as a joint service of NHSA and AWB.

Its purpose is twofold: to promote careers in the nonprofit human service sector and to facilitate connections between employers and prospective employees, interns and volunteers in that sector.

We would like to live in a world where:

  • All people can lead free and dignified lives.
  • Every person who wants to help another has the ability to do so.
  • No opportunities for action or collaboration are missed or wasted.

Mission

Action Without Borders connects people, organizations, and resources to help build a world where all people can live free and dignified lives.

AWB is independent of any government, political ideology, or religious creed. Our work is guided by the common desire of our members and supporters to find practical solutions to social and environmental problems, in a spirit of generosity and mutual respect.

The National Human Services Assembly is an association of nearly seventy of the U.S.A.’s leading human service and community development organizations. The household names of caring, these organizations and their affiliates operate in virtually every community in America, meeting human needs and building community. The National Assembly is their forum for advancing and continuously improving their work.

We envision a just and caring nation that effectively addresses the development and care of its citizens.

Mission

To strengthen health and human services in the United States.
